Art lovers welcome return of SoNo Arts Festival

“I had been visiting the Arts Fest because I was in middle school, so it was a bit bittersweet to say goodbye to that which was an yearly tradition for me and my loved ones,” said 27-year-old and lifelong Norwalk resident, Jeremie Blais. Despite an inauspicious beginning on a morning marred by alternating bouts of humidity and torrential downpours, the recently minted SoNo Arts Fest rebounded through the day as Washington and North Main streets bustled with activity. The festival featured just below 100 artists from all around the nation, who offered attendees a broad selection of art from ceramics, paintings, and photography to handmade furniture, wearable art and art foods. Along with artwork, the renovated festival included live music during the weekend, in addition to informational booths from local associations such as the Wilton Quakers, Norwalk Community College’s Archaeology Club and also the Humanists and Freethinkers of Fairfield County.
