Designer ‘Melts’ Works Of Art To Picture A World Without Air Conditioning

Alper Dostal’s digital art   imagines what could occur to usher at a museum without climate control

The air conditioning in museums and galleries were created to help keep the pieces they carried at perfect temperatures so they can stay in perfect condition. However, what if their air conditioning units were to go off during a heatwave? Alper Dostal, a multidisciplinary designer from Vienna, made several digital screens showing what famous paintings may look like if they began melting.

These digital pieces take first masterpieces, including Starry Night along with The Son of Man, also cause them to look like they were melting right off the picture and turning right into filthy puddles on the ground.

Dostal produced these pieces out there for everyone to see on his site  and as  posts on his Instagram page.
