Komphela has the last laugh

Lebese’s goal five minutes at the ending in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, on Saturday gave a triumph to Chiefs and kept them securely in the Premier Soccer League title race, even when they have played more matches than the other contenders.

Lebese, that Komphela said had lacked assurance, shattered home a left foot screamer to remind fans of the possible.

“Last week when we moved to Bloemfontein we had to leave him behind because he had a pain to the bone of the foot,” Komphela said.

“Prior to our cup game against Acornbush, he would sense the pain when he was kicking off the ball. It couldn’t be made by him.

“Before the game against Chippa he explained: ‘Coach, I feel far better. I can play.’

“We understand he’s caliber and that he made a difference in the game. He scored a objective.

“They laughed at me onto the bench once I explained: ‘This is George’s game, he is likely to score here, let us get him on.’

“I expect his optimism climbs because he has quality and the fans adore him to pieces.

“Let us just pray he remains injury-free and leads to the achievement of the group.”

Even the Lebese made 13 starts in all competitions and has had foot and back injuries this season.
