Keller @ Large: An Inspirational Tale

BOSTON (CBS) —  Let’s take a break in the dread and loathing of the information cycle and chat about something positive — the most superb strategizing, discipline and implementation of that the Boston Celtics.

On paper, the Celtics seem unlikely candidates to be division winners, two games away in your conference finals. However they are.

Why?

They are next only to Golden State as it comes to passing, although they are not the best shooting team from the playoffs.

They are one of the most adorable, although they are nowhere near one of their best rebounding teams.

They don’t possess the roster, but they understand their roles and are.

And what the Celtics have done over their impressive six-game playoff winning series is minimize their weaknesses and optimize their strengths.

They have at least three guys on the ground effective at hitting three-point shots. When they move the ball from side to side out by the three-point line over and over, it forces the other team to conduct themselves to death all game long hoping to maintain, also pulling the other group’s taller players away from your basket, allowing the Celtics to stay aggressive with rebounding.

And voila — come the fourth quarter, and the other group’s stars such as John Wall and Jimmy Butler are gassed from all of that jogging, and the Celtics’ quicker guards get their pick of forces to the basket or open jump shots.

Coaching, players that are clever, a winning game plan. It’s a formula for success.

Look out Golden State and Cleveland.

And for the rest of us, it’s an inspirational tale of brains over brawn.
